Internal heat is the key to your cat’s passion for your laptop keyboard, and we have figured out the perfect temperature that replicates laptop heat: 100º to 110º F (38º to 43º C). This temperature range is perfect for warming your cat’s belly while they laze about on the Cattop. Not too hot and not too cool, your cat will never want to leave the Cattop even after you’re done on your computer!
And speaking of heat, we take safety very seriously. We’re cat owners ourselves! Cattop has two main safety features: a thermal cutoff safety switch protects your feline friend from getting too hot. After the Cattop peaks over a set temperature it turns off. The other safety feature is a “kill switch” that cuts off all power to the Cattop if the user closes their computer laptop lid and forgets to turn off the Cattop. Your cat’s safety is of the utmost importance to us, and we want your cat to stay safe and healthy while she uses the Cattop.
The Cattop comes with a chew resistance cable. This cable is NOT chew proof. If your kitty likes to chew on wires, make sure you check the power cord regularly and use preventative measures to stop this type of behavior for your cats safety please!
The screen of the Cattop is glossy black plastic. The reason for the screen being plastic and glossy is intentional. Your cat isn’t as interested in the images on your screen most of the time as, say, a laser pointer’s dot. Because of the glossy sheen of the Cattop’s screen, you can shine a laser pointer at it to redirect your cat’s attention back onto the Cattop while you’re trying to finish up a task. Or you can create a positive association between the Cattop and play by focusing your cat’s attention on the screen to give both you and your cat a well-deserved play break.
